After studying semiology with Umberto Eco, he directed his interests towards cultural management. He has been involved in theater organization, audiovisuals, youth policies, integration, peace, and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. Currently, he is the coordinator of the museum and library system of the Puglia Region and the director of the Castromediano Museum in Lecce. On the role of art and culture in contemporary society, he has also published "The World Factory: Organization and Economy of Culture in the Age of Globalization" and the monograph "The Landing. Work for Migrant Humanity," dedicated to the installation by Greek artist Costas Varotsos on the wreck of the Kater i Rades.
