The research of Luca Coclite (Gagliano del Capo, 1981) focuses on the analysis of contemporary imagery related to landscape and architecture in dialogue with the social context. For several years, he has observed and recorded the transformations of the territories where he lives or has lived; he has analyzed the various political and social facets that emerge from the landscape understood as a cultural entity. Luca Coclite does not limit himself solely to creating visual works but focuses on interacting with local contexts and subjects, making the relationship with the territory an integral part of his artistic process.
Over the years, he has participated in several national and international residency programs, winning the 2017 - NCTM and L’Arte - scholarship, which allowed him to develop a research project at Experimental Intermedia in New York. In 2018, he received the VVA-Videoart Awards in Cape Town (South Africa) with the video project “Solitary Gardens.” His work has been exhibited in various foundations and museums, including the Galleria Nazionale in Rome, Fondazione del Monte in Bologna, and Museo Pino Pascali in Polignano a Mare (BA). In recent years, he has collaborated and co-founded several artistic and curatorial projects, including Ramdom with Paolo Mele and Casa a Mare with Claudio Musso and Giuseppe de Mattia. In 2018, he co-founded studioconcreto with Laura Perrone. These experiences have allowed him to deepen the study of places in relation to artistic practices. Among his latest solo and group exhibitions are: "Concerto di Fabbrica" (2023) curated by Toast Project Space at Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence and "Hidden Display" (2021) curated by Elisabetta Modena and Valentina Rossi at MAMBO, Museum of Modern Art in Bologna.
