Professor of Environmental and Territorial Sociology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at the University of Foggia (Italy), specialized in migration studies, particularly in the phenomena of globalization of rural areas and the exploitation of immigrants in agricultural production and harvesting.

In reference to the globalization of agricultural lands and the internationalization of commercial relationships between Italian and foreign mafias, she has produced monographs and scientific articles on the connection between agro-mafias and the Large-Scale Organized Distribution (MMR). Specifically, regarding the condition of immigrant farmworkers being reduced to slavery, she has studied the relationships between strategic planning and local governance to deepen the understanding of the effects of territorial segregation practices in relation to the rigid European policies of migrant inclusion/integration. The focus of her research involves a critical analysis of the European approach and dimension to migration policies with the aim of questioning the strategies for migrant inclusion, migration policies in general, and economic models in the agro-industrial sectors.
